Job Mission
Fixed-term contract: The total length of employment under fixed-term contracts will not exceed five years.
Under the authority of the Head of Division and the Head of Unit, the position-holder shall be responsible for carrying out research and providing support in the context of joint programmes and voluntary contributions, in keeping with the priorities set by the Head of Division and the Head of Unit and with a concern for quality, efficiency and accuracy.

Key Activities
The incumbent performs all or a combination of the following duties:
- identifies, collects and organises data, a bibliography and documentation relating to the projects concerned;
- helps to prepare and follow-up questionnaires and campaigns;
- updates documentation and the data bases corresponding to on-going projects and prepares documents that will be useful in developing the projects;
- publishes documents and updates web tools to facilitate dialogue with different target groups and give on-going projects a higher profile;
- receives information and correspondence from experts/partners and responds to their requests in co-ordination with his or her superiors;
- assists with the logistical organisation of meetings and follow-up to meetings and other events in the context of joint programmes and voluntary contributions (seminars, conferences, working groups, etc.), takes notes with a view to preparing meeting reports.

Essential competencies
· Professional and technical qualifications:
- secondary education, preferably followed by additional studies;
- relevant professional experience.
· Communication and language skills: very good knowledge of one of the Council of Europe’s official languages (English or French) and a good knowledge of the other.

Other competencies
· Professional and technical skills and experience:
- an understanding of management, sociology, social economics or political sciences would be an advantage;
- professional experience in the institutions or NGOs, even as a free-lance worker, in particular in projects concerning cohesion and social welfare, the protection of vulnerable populations, the fight against all forms of discrimination, in particular against LGBT individuals, dialogue and intercultural skills and experience of co-operation with third countries would be an advantage.
· Interpersonal skills: service and client orientation, team-work and co-operation; relationship-building.
· Personal attitudes: initiative and responsibility, result orientation and sense of continuous improvement, concern for quality, efficiency and accuracy, adaptability, self-management and development, organisational alignment.
· Personal values: integrity, loyalty and conscience, discretion, independence and confidence, respect for diversity.
