JOB DESCRIPTION

Overall purpose
The Communications and Network Support Unit of the EACI aims to establish a reserve list for Communication Assistant posts.
The Communications and Network Support Unit is responsible for communications on the Intelligent Energy – Europe, Eco-innovation and Marco Polo programmes; for the Enterprise Europe Network communication, governance and training, including Your Europe Business Portal; and for the EACI’s internal and external communications.
The job holder will work under the supervision of the responsible Head of Sector and Head of Unit.

Functions and duties

The job holder will mainly

Edit and update websites;
- Co-ordinate the organisation of (and Agency participation in) events such as trade fairs, exhibitions, info days, conferences and other public relation activities;
- Assist with the drafting, development and distribution of communication concepts, messages and materials, both for internal and external communications, including text, graphic, audio-visual, print and online content;
- Manage the work of subcontractors for the delivery of communication products, including the associated project, financial and contract management aspects;
- Help organise and manage public procurement on communication and information related tasks (calls for tender, contracts);
- Help manage media relations and social media networks;
Contribute to in-house training, workshops, presentations and exchanges with networks managed by the EACI;
- Contribute to the EACI quarterly, annual and ad-hoc reporting needs;
- In co-operation with the Head of Sector and Head of Unit contribute to other communication activities where such contribution is deemed necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
A. Eligibility criteria
Candidates will be considered eligible for selection on the basis of the following formal criteria to be fulfilled by the deadline for applications:
1. To be included in the European Personnel Selection Office (EPSO) database for contract agents in function group III in a field related to the profile of the post (i.e. Communication Officer/Assistant, Proofreader, Graphic Designer, ICT Officer, Project Officer and/or Administrative Officer/Assistant) and have successfully passed the EPSO selection and competence tests for that function group.
Candidates included in the European Personnel Selection Office (EPSO) database for contract agents CAST RELEX and CAST 2010 are not considered as eligible for this post.
2. A post-secondary education (with an official duration of at least three academic years) attested by a diploma;
or
a secondary education attested by a diploma giving access to post-secondary education and appropriate professional experience of three years.
3. To have a thorough knowledge of at least two official languages of the European Union;
4. To be a national of a member state of the European Union, Norway, Iceland or Liechtenstein;
5. To be entitled to his or her full rights as a citizen;
6. To have fulfilled any obligations imposed by the applicable laws concerning military service;
7. To meet the character requirements for the duties involved;
8. To be physically fit to perform the duties linked to the post.
