The Asylum Processes Officer will be working in the Centre for Operational Support (COS).
He / she will be mainly responsible for the following tasks:
- Research for and draft EASO Support Framework on Asylum Processes;
- Map ping out and streamlining EASO processes pertaining to support of member states Asylum Processes;
- Delivering on Asylum Processes specific strategic input and advice to the Head of Centre for Operational Support;
- Delivering background information to Head of Centre for Operational Support and drafting background memos and strategic papers on Asylum Processes;
- Developing methodologies and tools for EASO support for the implementation of Common European Asylum System (CEAS) in the field of Asylum Processes;
- Coordinating the activities carried out by EASO related to Asylum Processes;
- Initiating new projects and activities within EASO with regard to Asylum Processes;
- Supporting the Head of Centre in setting up, strengthening and maintaining an effective network of contacts with relevant competent authorities, EU bodies, Member State Initiatives, international organisations and/or other external entities, in the field of Asylum Processes;
- Identifying and analysing EASO relevant information from external partners and proposing, where necessary, actions to be taken;
- Where needed participating in external meetings and conferences and activities in the field of Asylum Processes.

Eligibility criteria
Candidates will be considered eligible for selection on the basis of the following formal criteria to be fulfilled by the deadline for applications:
1. Be nationals of a Member State of the European Union;
2. Be employed by a public administration of a Member State of the European Union for at least 12 months before applying for secondment;
3. Have at least 3 years of relevant professional experience;
4. Have a thorough knowledge of one of the official EU languages and an excellent command of spoken and especially written English.

Selection criteria
1. Proven professional experience in the areas mentioned in the job description under Profile;
2. Excellent written and oral command of English;
3. Experience in drafting Asylum Processes Strategy or Action Plan;
4. Excellent knowledge of Asylum Processes management and procedures;
5. Experience in cooperation with Member States’ authorities, EU bodies, international organisations and civil society organisations which are active in the field of Asylum Processes;
6. Experience in drafting strategic papers, policy papers and background memos;
7. Experience in drafting programmes and projects;
8. Proven solid experience on asylum policy and Asylum Processes, legislation and/or practices within a national administration and in cooperation between Member States;
9. Ability to use electronic office equipment and applications (word processing, spread sheets, presentations, electronic communication, internet etc.);
10. Excellent planning and organisational skills and ability to prioritise work and deliver under pressure;
11. Very good analytical capabilities and problem - solving skills;
12. Discretion in handling sensitive and confidential issues;
13. Ability to communicate effectively within a multicultural environment.
1. Post-graduate diploma or training obtained in a field relevant for the above mentioned tasks and duties;
2. Professional experience in a position related to the aforementioned duties, preferably within a EU institution, Agency or Body or International Organisation or equivalent;
3. Previous experience within an international and multicultural environment;
4. Field experience relevant for the above mentioned tasks and duties;
5. Capacity to manage and co-ordinate several processes simultaneously;
6. Knowledge of other off icial languages of the European Union;
7. Knowledge of the mission and organisation of EASO.
